08.03.2011 Renaud Garcia Fons wrote a new soundtrack for the flm "the Adventures of Prince Ahmed" of Lotte Reiniger The original soundtrack for the film The Adventures of Prince Achmed The world premiere of this music from Renaud Garcia Fons was one of the highlights during this years´Kurt Weill Festival taking place in Kurt Weill´s hometown in Dessau in March 2011. Renaud Garcia Fons was accompanied by some of the best French ethno/jazz musicians as Claire Antonini : luth, târ; David Venitucci : accordéon; Bruno Caillat : percussion orientale (zarb, gatam, daf); Henri Tournier : fluteBansuri, flute octobasse and vibes player Franck Tortillier. Renaud Garcia Fons will perform this music with his ensemble at different festivals and concert halls in the next time . |

08.03.2011 Nguyên Lê receives high honour from French cultural ministry for his support of French culture On January 18, 2011, Nguyên Lê was appointed "Chevalier de l`Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" by the French culture secretary Frédéric Mitterand. Past prominent honourees include David Bowie, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Albert Mangelsdorff, Leonardo DiCaprio and Dustin Hoffman. On March 25, Nguyên Lê's new album "Songs of Freedom" (ACT 9506-2) will be released. Nguyên Lê, with his irresistible world-jazz sound, transfers Rock & Pop hits by Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and The Beatles into the Global Village of today – together withgreat guest artists like Youn Sun Nah, Dhafer Youssef, Chris Speed, David Binney, Karim Ziad and many more. |

03.11.2010 Joachim Kühn got an invitation to record with the saxophon legend Archie Shepp in a studio close to Marseille this november. Archie Shepp asked the German piano master to compose some tunes for this new album. Joachim Kühn presented his new CD box including six new solo albums during this year´s Berlin jazz Festival. There is a special edition which is also presenting some paintings by the the artist. Another trio CD with Majid Bekkas and Ramon Lopez appears next time on the ACT label. The three musicians are planning another trip into the desert to meet local musicians in Mali and to find some new material for their common project. He just came back from the Cyprus Festival on 19th of June where he performed with his friends Majid Bekkas and Ramon Lopez; One day later he will play together with Rabih Abou Khalil at the Festival in La Defense in Paris next to Wayne Shorter and his band. |

16.06.2010 French-Vietnames guitar heroe Nguyen Lê is just working on his new album. It is dedicated to songs from the 60ies with songs from great bands like Cream, Janis Joplin or Iron Butterfly. This album will be in the traditin of Nguyen´s celebrating Jimi Hendrix album which has been released on ACT some years ago. The new album is planned to be published in February of 2011. Julia Hülsmann´s next ECM album is coming out in January of next year. The first concerts in Vienna, München and Berlin have already been booked for end February. Other concerts will follow. |
