THE TRIO

At just nine, ten and eleven years of age, these three young musicians were already sharing their talent on different stages of their home town, Barranquilla. After graduating High School they travel to Germany with the
quintet “Latin Sampling”, with which they’ve had a 12 year-long musical career spiked with successes.
Once in Germany, they start studying in renowned musical universities and take part in different latin-music and jazz projects. Thanks to their skill and versatility they soon become one of the most acclaimed rhythmic bases of
the latin-jazz scene in Germany.
In 2006 Bruno Böhmer is nominated for the “Folkwang Preis”, a prize awarded by the Folkwang University to its best student. Bruno took this opportunity to present some of his compositions for jazz-trio, attracted by the artistic freedom and skill this formation demands from each of his members. Not only was the trio awarded the first prize, it also received several record offers from renowned producers of the genre. In 2008 the three musicians return to the “Folkwang Preis”, this time due to the nomination of Juan Camilo Villa.
They were awarded the first prize once again, and saw the potential this project had not only in the German market, but also on the international scene.

Herencias is a production that submerges us into some of the rhythms from the vast Caribbean
repertoire, exquisitely interpreted by three young musicians from Colombia, which form one of the
most representative combos of the jazz genre.
The album not only includes compositions by Bruno Böhmer Camacho, but also rearrangements of
some traditional songs by his grandfather, Ángel María Camacho, pioneer of Colombian folkloric
music.
The sound of this production is transparent, authentic and deep, doing a remarkable job in
transmitting the energy of the musicians.
The production concept and sound were placed in the hands of Daniel Orejuela Flores, who not
only is very familiar with the trio’s style, but also has been internationally awarded for the sound of
his jazz productions.
On "Herencias" Bruno Böhmer Camacho, Juan Camilo Villa and Rodrigo Villalón present triomusic
at its finest. It is unbelievably fun to listen to these exceptional musicians. Kudos!"
