Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau and Júlio Resende „Sons of Revolution“

Júlio Resende is a Portuguese pianist who has garnered international acclaim for his unique blend of Fado and Jazz. His latest album with ACT Music „Sons of the Revolution,“ is a testament to his artistic evolution, seamlessly weaving together traditional Fado melodies with the improvisational freedom of Jazz.

„Sons of the Revolution“ is Resende’s most ambitious project to date, showcasing his deep connection to his African heritage. The album celebrates the end of Portugal’s colonial wars and the triumph of freedom over oppression.

Together with his quartet formed by Bruno Chaveiro on Portuguese guitar, André Rosinha on double bass and Alexandre Frazão on drums, freedom will be celebrated in the best venues in Europe, such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the Kölner Philharmonie in Germany.

„Júlio Resende is a true innovator,“ says ACT Music label boss Siggi Loch, „He is pushing the boundaries of Fado Jazz and creating music that is both beautiful and thought-provoking“. The pianist has several concerts scheduled in various venues across Europe. The new album is being very well received by the public and critics, looking forward to its presentation on stage.

Big names in Jazz will perform at the Jazzaldia festival – San Sebastián International Jazz Festival, such as Diana Krall and Brad Mehldau, .Júlio Resende makes his debut with two dates: July 26th and 27th.
