At 80 years old, Joachim Kühn continues to push boundaries with his French trio, consisting of bassist Thibault Cellier and drummer Sylvain Darrifourcq. Their music is intuitive, spontaneous and rooted in the „French way“ that combines lightness, speed and elegance. At the same time he can  be heard at following concerts during the fall:

Whereas the previous albums „Travesuras“ (2019) and „Vía de la Plata“ (2021) were still characterised by clear influences from flamenco and traditional Spanish music, García has now cast his net wider. There are flamenco borrowings on „Wonderland“, but they are more subtle and sit alongside a whole range of inspirations from modern jazz, classical music, pop, together with influences from the Caribbean and the Middle East. At the same time, „Wonderland“ is also about the inner search: Daníel Garcia invites his listeners to explore their own feelings and thoughts – in “this secret haven where our deepest illusions and most fervent hopes reside, guiding us through the labyrinth of life.

Joachim Kühn, who celebrates his 80th birthday in March this year, will be awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany in Paris on 12 April 2024.

Now it is official: Alfredo Rodriguez is  represented with his Trio by our Concertbüro exclusively in the German speaking countries  from now on. Alfredo recently performed in the Cologne Philharmonic in front of 1,800 enthusiastic spectators, thereby distinguishing himself as one of the leading piano player in the world

The Cuban musician is living in Miami but he is regularly present on European stages. Alfredo Rodriguez is produced by Quincy Jones Production .

Pianist Daniel García has been nominated as European jazz musician  of the year by the prestigious French Académie du Jazz.

Júlio Resende is a Portuguese pianist who has garnered international acclaim for his unique blend of Fado and Jazz. His latest album with ACT Music , „Sons of the Revolution,“ is a testament to his artistic evolution, seamlessly weaving together traditional Fado melodies with the improvisational freedom of Jazz.

„Sons of the Revolution“ is Resende’s most ambitious project to date, showcasing his deep connection to his African heritage. The album celebrates the end of Portugal’s colonial wars and the triumph of freedom over oppression.

Together with his quartet formed by Bruno Chaveiro on Portuguese guitar, André Rosinha on double bass and Alexandre Frazão on drums, freedom will be celebrated in the best venues in Europe, such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the Kölner Philharmonie in Germany.

„Júlio Resende is a true innovator,“ says ACT Music label boss Siggi Loch, „He is pushing the boundaries of Fado Jazz and creating music that is both beautiful and thought-provoking“. The pianist has several concerts scheduled in various venues across Europe. The new album is being very well received by the public and critics, looking forward to its presentation on stage.

Big names in Jazz will perform at the Jazzaldia festival – San Sebastián International Jazz Festival, such as Diana Krall and Brad Mehldau, .Júlio Resende makes his debut with two dates: July 26th and 27th.

Released under the simple title “Komeda”, the album documents a deeply emotional and large-scale homage to Krzysztof Komeda, the pioneer of a new European jazz. The pianist Joachim Kühn, a friend from a young age and an admirer of the visionary who died tragically early, looks back on Komeda’s compositions and at the same time uses them as an opportunity to venture into new musical territory with them – in fascinating solo improvisations, with his New Trio and in the successful symbiosis with the equally virtuoso soulful musical Atom String Quartet.
